Back to the world of DA!

Fri Sep 18, 2009, 5:49 AM
HEY EVERYONE! How's it going?

Now that I finally have internet access that's faster than 56 kbs per second, and I can use my OWN computer again for the internet, I'm back in business! School's just started (erm, well, it's been a month now. XD) and I'm finally settling into routines, so I'm going to make sure this is part of my routine. : ]

I have schoolwork I need to post, and I have a scanner now, so I'm probably going to scan in a lot of the sketches I've done over the past months, so I'll try to be a better Deviant and share the love. XD

Also, I realized thanks to my footer there that I'm still technically "open" for sketch commissions. I also still have my prints, too. So if anyone's interested at all, just let me know! I'm going to be busy with school and everything, but sketches I can do anytime and I'd love to do, so just send me a note if you're interested!

Alright, well have a good day, folks!

hi i was wondering if you could help me with something i was developing a silent movie web site for class and i just would like to know what kind of font did u use for ur silent film thing and did u make that border???
:iconseira-chan33:
I traced the frame in illustrator- it was originally from the anime Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, so I can't take full credit, but I did do the work tracing it. Really, it's a lot like pinstriping- and if you play around with the pen tool and the line tool, and use various strokes, you can get some pretty neat effects. And, you only have to make the design once and reflect it, really.

The font I used was one called Lansbury (I think from Murder She Wrote? Not sure...) that I found at fontspace.com, I believe. However, I played with the size of it- it's a 37 pt. font, with the leading at 29, and the tracking at 25, the horizontal scale at 105%, and the vertical scale at 93%. Basically, I made it more short and squat, and more spaced apart, to match an old silent film tile I saw on the internet.

Hope this can be of help!

Ah, Sean is supposed to be very anorexic-looking- he really doesn't take care of himself. Trigger and Strych are plumping up somewhat though- I've gotten better at anatomy... XD

I'm glad you like my style, though! I hope to do more animations with him, and all of them! They're rather fun to do.

Thank you so much!!

Thanks! You definitely must make more animation, they're so dynamic and I really love the style!Just don't get too good at anatomy;P It would be wrong to make them normal...like turning Jack the Pumpkin King into Jack the Burger KingXD

Thank you so much. I've decided, from working on so many animations, that it's what I want to do, actually. : ] So thank you for your comments!

But aww, you think so? I've been drawing Trigger with some more muscle on him lately, but I think it suits him. I am rather fond of lanky characters, though- so I'll still exaggerate the proportions, of course. :p
Hey, the more you know about the rules, though, the more you can break them wisely!
